Pieter van Schalkwyk is a qualified Dorper Judge and
Inspector, having judged shows and done typing for breeders in the USA, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa and Namibia. Many courser are presented by him, and he has classed at South African national sales.
Pieter was actively involved in the establishing of breeding programmes for Dorpers in third-world countries such as Angola and Belize. He is the youngest ever to hold the Presidency of the Dorper Sheep Breeders Association of Namibia, and served on the Board of the Dorper Sheep Breeders Association of South Africa.
Pieter is also a founder member and shareholder of an export abatoir, NAMCO, exporting Dorper cuts to EU countries. More than 600 000 Dorper are yearly slaughtered, packed and marketed through NAMCO.
